CALL FOR ABSTRACTS & SHORT COURSES

Thank you to everyone that submitted an abstract or short course proposal. Accepted abstracts are listed in the link below:

ABSTRACTS

The Organizing Committee for the 2021 Heap Leach Solutions Conference invites abstracts for consideration. The conference, to take place in Reno, Nevada in September 2021 will be framed around the following themes:

  • Project development
  • Operations
  • Closure
  • Gold, copper, nickel, uranium and other metal leaching
  • Heap leach hydrology
  • New technologies
  • Governance
  • Modelling

The Organizing Committee envisions that contributions will come from across the spectrum of heap leach solutions, technologies and management issues but encourage potential authors to try and consider framing their abstracts along the following paper types:

  1. Case histories from any life-cycle stage(s) illustrating lessons learned and/or advancements in terms of one or more conference themes.
  2. Innovations in approach or technology that apply to any of the life-cycle stages of heap leach solutions.  Please note that abstracts that appear to be solely aimed at promoting commercial exposure (e.g. advertising) will be declined.
  3. Updates on key topics from previous Heap Leach Solutions conferences.

Please note, papers accepted into the Conference Proceedings will not be subject to copyright restrictions and are permitted for publication outside of the Heap Leach Solutions 2020 Conference.

TEMPLATE

Abstracts should be submitted using this Style Template, ensuring the following elements are included:

  1. Title (no more than 100 characters)
  2. Authors (name, affiliation and country)
  3. Abstract (300-500 words; provided in the format requested)
  4. Brief biography of the lead author
  5. Author contact details

SHORT COURSES/WORKSHOPS

The Committee also invites proposals to run or contribute to short courses/workshops for a date that is to be announced. Note that the number of courses available will be limited in 2020.  Ideally the short courses/workshops would incorporate at least one of the themes listed below, be collaborative across the industry (e.g., include participation from owners, designers, academics, regulators, etc.) and include case histories.

  • Project development
  • Operations
  • Closure
  • Gold, copper, nickel, uranium and other metal leaching
  • Heap leach hydrology
  • New technologies
  • Governance
  • Modelling

The Committee is accepting proposals for:

  • Short course/workshop leads (that would coordinate and facilitate the course); and
  • Collaborators that are interested in contributing to one of the courses.
