With the Heap Leach Solutions Conference, we seek to share knowledge and facilitate interaction between heap leach practitioners and researchers from a wide range of disciplines.
*All accepted papers must be accompanied by a fully paid registration at the author rate. Registrations completed as part of a sponsorship or exhibitor package do not meet this requirement.
Call for Abstracts
The Organizing Committee for the 2025 Heap Leach Solutions Conference invited abstracts for consideration. The conference, took place in Sparks, Nevada on October 19-21, 2025, and was framed around the following themes:
- Project Development
- Operations
- Closure
- Gold, copper, nickel, uranium, and other metal leaching
- Heap Leach Hydrology
- New technologies
- Governance and communities
- Modelling
- Economics and Financing
The Organizing Committee envisioned contributions would come from across the spectrum of heap leach solutions, technologies and management issues but encouraged potential authors to try and consider framing their abstracts along the following paper types:
- Case histories from any life-cycle stage(s) illustrating lessons learned and/or advancements in terms of one or more conference themes.
- Innovations in approach or technology that apply to any of the life-cycle stages of heap leach solutions. Please note that abstracts that appear to be solely aimed at promoting commercial exposure (e.g. advertising) will be declined.
- Updates on key topics from previous Heap Leach Solutions conferences.
Please note, papers accepted into the Conference Proceedings were not subjected to copyright restrictions and are permitted for publication outside of the Heap Leach Solutions 2025 Conference.
Short Course Proposal
- Short course/workshop leads (that would coordinate and facilitate the course)
- Collaborators that are interested in contributing to one of the courses
The Committee also invited proposals to run or contribute to short courses/workshops scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 2025. Note that the number of courses available were limited in 2025. Ideally, the short courses/workshops would incorporate at least one of the above themes, be collaborative across the industry (e.g., include participation from owners, designers, academics, regulators, etc.), and include case histories.
